Most plumbers get their best jobs from the map pack and the first three organic results, not from ads. We build the site, the suburb pages and the Google Business Profile that put you there, and we show you the calls it produces.
A blocked drain search at 6am is not a research project. The person wants a plumber in the next hour, in their suburb, who answers the phone. Google knows that, which is why plumbing results are dominated by the map pack and by sites with a page for the exact job and the exact area. A plumbing site with one services page and a homepage that says "all areas" is invisible for every search that matters.
Plumbing SEO comes down to three things: a Google Business Profile that is complete, reviewed and categorised correctly; a site with a page per service (blocked drains, hot water, leak detection, gas) and a page per suburb you actually work in; and enough real content on those pages that Google believes you do the work there. Backlinks help, but for a local plumber they are a distant fourth.
Google Business Profile set up or cleaned up: categories, services, service area, photos of your vans and your work, and a review flow your customers will actually use. This is where most of the calls come from and it is the first thing we fix.
Service pages as parents, suburb pages as children, every page linked to the ones around it. We have built this at scale: one Sydney plumbing client has 191 suburb and service pages, each written from a researched fact sheet for that suburb so none of them read as a template.
Pages about the drains, pipes, housing stock and water pressure in the suburbs you serve. Not padding. Google can tell the difference and so can the reader.
Speed, mobile layout, schema (LocalBusiness with your licence number, Service, FAQ), sitemap, redirects. Boring, necessary, done once properly.
Calls and form fills from organic traffic, tracked separately from ads so you know which one is paying. Danny builds this on every account.
If you want calls this week while the SEO builds, Google Ads campaigns for plumbers runs alongside it; most of our plumbing clients run both.
Month one is research and structure: what your area searches, what your competitors rank for, which suburbs are worth a page. Months two and three are build: the pages, the profile, the schema. From month four it is content, reviews and the Search Console checks that tell us what to do next. Plumbing SEO takes six to twelve months to pay properly; we will tell you that on the first call rather than selling you a quick fix. The site it all sits on matters too; see websites for plumbers.
Trades and service businesses, mostly. The discipline is the same for industrial: find the searches that convert, own them, and stop paying for the rest.
We have built more plumbing sites than any other trade. We know what a plumber's search demand looks like in a given metro, we have a suburb page method that survives Google's template filters, and we do not lock you in: month to month, pause whenever you like. Need the rest of the picture? Our plumber marketing page covers ads, Meta and the website together, and the marketing for tradies hub covers every trade we work with.
Same service, other trades: SEO for electricians and SEO for pest control.
Map pack improvements from a cleaned up Google Business Profile often show within four to eight weeks. Organic rankings for service and suburb pages take three to six months to start and six to twelve months to mature. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is selling ads, not SEO.
Everything that gets you into the map pack: a complete Google Business Profile, consistent name, address and phone across directories, reviews with replies, photos, and a website that confirms the services and areas the profile claims. For a plumber it is the highest return part of SEO.
If you want to rank for plumber plus suburb searches, yes, and those are the searches with the clearest intent. The catch is that suburb pages have to be real: different content per suburb, written from facts about the area, not one template with the name swapped. Google filters the template version.
Ads work from day one and stop the day you stop paying. SEO takes months and keeps working. Most plumbing businesses need both: ads for emergency and high value jobs now, SEO to bring the cost per job down over time.
SEO starts from $750 a month. We quote a flat monthly fee on the first call, no lock-in. The cost should be judged against what a blocked drain or hot water job is worth to you; one extra job a week usually covers it.
Twenty minute call, we show you the numbers.
Send a quick note. We'll get back same day, usually within an hour. No automated replies, no sales sequence, just Garo.
